DTN COMMENT:   The country is quiet at midday. Formula reports are not 
currently available from the USDA, we will get that information out as soon 
as it is made available to us. New showlists appear to be mixed, higher in 
Texas, and Nebraska/Colorado, but lower in Kansas. Bids and asking prices 
have yet to be established, and significant trade volume will likely be 
delayed until well into the second half of the week.

Beef cutouts are higher at midday (Choice 345.79 +2.89, Select 327.76 +2.41), 
with very light box movement (20.23 lds of choice cuts, 5.04 lds of select 
cuts, 0.00 lds of trim, and 4.60 lds of ground). Cattle futures at midday are 
sharply higher on both live and feeder contracts.
